Engineering and Project Management
Our engineering department is staffed with mechanical
engineers and technicians as well as experienced,
hands-on manufacturing engineers, planners and programmers.
We are completely computerized and all engineering and project
management work is done on line. This includes computer aided
design (CAD), manufacturing (CAM), project management, and
business management.
We use a single entry business and shop floor control program.
We build an individual file for each project which starts with
your inquiry and grows to include material planning and
purchasing documents, manufacturing and quality work instructions,
work center loading and actual cost data. All work is performed
to written instructions contained in these project files which
are available from computer terminals on the shop floor. These
records are invaluable tools for use in our capacity planning,
scheduling, costing and continuous improvement process.
Our engineering, purchasing, project management and quality
assurance personnel are physically located in the same area
and function as a coordinated team.
We work with a wide variety of incoming customer documentation
ranging from completely specified build to print packages to
loosely defined concept sketches and specifications. In this
age of increasing complexity, many of our customers have found
that they have little practical manufacturing engineering
capability and use us for input into their design process.
We have found that we can add substantial value when participating
as a design team member. Many of our customers who use concurrent
design have been impressed with our ability to work in parallel
with their design effort while maintaining configuration control,
schedule and budget.
We have the capability of working from electronic files and often
move directly from customer files to CAM generated machine code.
We welcome electronic communication.
